PlantCare Pro takes privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it. It applies to the PlantCare Pro mobile application (iOS and Android) and to plantcarepro.app.
What we collect
- Account information. Email address (for sign-in and account recovery only).
- Plant photos and identification data. Photos you upload to identify plants, plus the AI-generated results and any notes or nicknames you add. Stored in your private My Garden.
- Location (optional). Used only to fetch local weather and adjust care recommendations. Never stored beyond the current session.
- Usage analytics. Anonymous, aggregate analytics (page views, feature usage) via Firebase Analytics. No personally identifying information is included.
How we use your data
- To identify plants and generate care advice via GPT-4 Vision.
- To save your plants and history to your private My Garden.
- To send weather-aware care notifications (only with permission).
- To improve the app — aggregated and anonymised usage data only.
Who we share data with
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share the minimum necessary information with these processors to operate the app:
- OpenAI — to run plant identification and health analysis on the photos you upload. Photos are processed and discarded; OpenAI does not train on your data.
- Supabase — to store your account and My Garden data with row-level security.
- RevenueCat — to manage subscriptions and billing.
- OpenWeatherMap — to fetch local weather (location sent without your account identifier).
- Firebase Analytics — anonymous usage analytics.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, export and delete your data. You can delete your account at any time from within the app, which permanently removes your My Garden and account record from our systems within 30 days.
Children
PlantCare Pro is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We'll post any changes here with a revised "last updated" date. Material changes will also be flagged in the app.
